Brazilian Yuri Martins Dzivielevski won his first gold bracelet at the 50th WSOP.
Dzivielevski, known as “theNERDguy” in the online poker community, came off with flying colors in the $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better. The event featured 401 contenders, generating a $902,250 prize pool.
On June 23, the winning Brazilian and other participants contested in ten one-hour levels. At the final battle, Dzivielevski eliminated American Michael Thompson. The two poker players were even throughout most of the event, but the former prevailed during Stud Hi-Lo with a full house.
Dzivielevski got a $213,750 payout, whereas the runner-up received $132,113.
Following the game, the pro poker player spoke of his victory, stressing it was an exceptional moment for him. Speaking about the tournament, he remarked that it was important to be present in the game, summarizing that he lives in the now.
With the first bracelet under his belt, Dzivielevski plans to pursue more titles and continue playing.
