Indiana-based gambling operator Spectacle Entertainment is moving forward with Hard Rock Casino in Gary, revealing the deadline ending by 2020.
Vice President and General Counsel of Spectacle John Keeler explained that they would roll out the venue in two phases, with the casino being the first they would build. The second phase will start with the development of a hotel and parking facility.
Earlier this week, Spectacle informed the Gary Plan Commission, which reviews planned development proposals, of its intention to open the Hard Rock Casino by December 31, 2020. The hotel and parking facility are expected to be developed within two to three years.
Last week, the company announced that it had struck a deal with gaming giant Hard Rock International to develop a $400 million casino resort that would replace its Majestic Star Casino.
