Casino giant Hard Rock International and sports betting technology provider Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) have extended their partnership today to jointly develop a sportsbook in Iowa.
In 2018, Hard Rock announced a sportsbook supply deal with GiG, enabling the provider to render the “full suite of omni-channel sports betting services” to Hard Rock Atlantic City. The agreement also had a provision to extend the partnership to states where sports betting would become legal.
“After a successful launch in New Jersey, I am delighted to further deepen the relationship with Hard Rock, delivering on our strategy to grow with our partner by entering a new state in the US with our sportsbook,” said Richard Brown, acting chief executive officer of GiG.
European provider will open the sportsbook at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City on Friday, launching an over-the-counter betting.
Hard Rock and GiG have also revealed their plans to introduce digital and mobile sports wagering in Q4 2019.
Last week, the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission published a sports betting revenue report, announcing that the state’s casinos produced $8.5 million.
