$2.8M Prize Pool to Feature in First Wynn Winter Classic
The inaugural Wynn Winter Classic is heading to the Wynn Poker Room in December, with players contesting for a $2.8 million prize pool.
The first Wynn Classic tournament drew almost 2,600 participants in 2007, with more than $4.5 million in prize money awarded to players.
“There are a handful of fantastic events in Las Vegas bookmarking this $5,300 Championship, and I would really love to see this December timeframe become an annual ‘must play’ on everyone’s tournament calendar,” said Ryan Beauregard, Executive Director of Poker at Wynn Las Vegas.
The Wynn Winter Classic will feature 17 events from December 2 to 20, with players choosing between smaller or larger buy-ins, including $300 Limit Omaha and $5,300 NLH Championship.
With $1.5 million in guarantees, the $5,300 buy-in Championship will headline the tournament. Each player will receive $50,000 chips and take part in 60-minute levels.
Another highlight of the Wynn Winter Classic will be the $500,000 guaranteed $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em event on December 12.
The Wynn Classic is held annually during spring, summer, and fall, and now, it will take place in winter months as well.
