Encore Boston Harbor Grosses $17M in First Week
Encore Boston Harbor earned about $17 million in gambling revenue during its opening week, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) released a data which unveiled that the Everett-based casino resort grossed more than $2 million each day.
Alan Woinski, president of a consultancy group Gaming USA Corp., called this the “best opening period” for a brand new casino.
Wynn Resorts, the venue’s owner, predicted that it would take in more than $800 million in the first year; and if Encore Boston continues at the set pace, it will earn about $770 million.
In an interview with the Review-Journal, Union Gaming analyst John DeCree stated that he didn’t find this surprising as the first 30 days were usually strong for a new casino.
The company’s report showed that they earned $7.7 million on table games and $9.1 million on slots.
The $2.6 billion casino resort opened its doors on June 23, featuring 3,158 slots, 88 poker tables, and 143 table games.
