Construction Work Started on $350m Arkansas Casino Resort
On Monday, the Quapaw Nation tribe started construction work on a $350 million casino resort set to open in Arkansas in 2020.
In June, the tribe’s economic development arm Downstream Development Authority received a gaming license from the Arkansas Racing Commission, enabling it to open a gambling venue in Jefferson County.
The Oklahoma-based Quapaw Nation conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for Saracen Casino Resort in Pine Bluff on August 5.
The casino is expected to be launched in June 2020 with the hotel set to open in December of the same year.
Since the voter referendum held in November 2019, the Arkansas Racing Commission has approved the development of casinos in Jefferson County, Southland, and Oaklawn.
