Caesars Entertainment and Taito, a Japanese gaming company, have inked a deal which will see the casino resort host Toushinsai, an eSports event.

In August, Caesars’ Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino will be a place of gathering for participants and fans of the arcade tournament Toushinsai. The event has been organized in Japan since 2015.

This year’s tournament will see competitors play the game Street Fighter V in a three-on-three single elimination; the winners will be awarded with a trip to Tokyo.

John Linss, Caesars’ Vice President for Strategic Investment Initiatives, said that the company was “excited” for the chance to hold Toushinsai. He also added that Caesars had always supported the eSports industry in its resorts, stressing that they were “happy” to partner up with Taito.

Taito President Tetsu Yamada commented on the collaboration as well, calling Caesars a “great partner.” Yamada said that their combined knowledge would bring a “first-class” experience to players and guests.

News about the US casino giant has been hitting the headlines lately, with the recent announcement that Caesars has backed out of the race for a license to open a casino on Australia’s Gold Coast.
