A Russian online poker player passed away in a tragic accident at home, CNN reports.
Liliya Novikova, known among the Twitch Poker community as “Liay5”, was discovered by a neighbor who’s been asked to check on her by her family.
A police source told Russian news agency TASS that Novikova hadn’t been responding for days.
The lifeless body of the 26-years-old was found in the bathtub of her Moscow apartment on Tuesday. The cause of death was a lethal electric shock, which occurred while the online poker player was drying her hair.
Russia’s Investigative Committee has publicly stated that they had no reason to suspect foul play.
During her poker career, Novikova earned $98,904 by participating in live tournaments.
In March 2014, she joined Twitch to stream poker games and managed to attract 24,654 followers. Her last stream was posted four days ago, garnering 7.7k views.
