Professional athlete Eric Zaun died after falling from the top floor of an Atlantic City casino, Las Vegas police stated.
Zaun, also known as “Road Dawg”, was discovered on Tuesday evening, after authorities responded to a report about a body found in the parking lot of the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa.
Only two days later, police released a statement about the victim’s identity, confirming that it was New Jersey native Zaun who apparently committed suicide by jumping from the 29th floor of his hotel room.
The Association of Volleyball Professionals issued a statement, saying that they were “deeply saddened” because of the untimely death of the volleyball player.
This is not the first case of a body discovered on the grounds of a casino in 2019.
In late March, the police found Andrew Fogel, a radiologist, and his daughter Rebecca Fogel unresponsive in the parking area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
The casino resort’s spokesman Gary Bitner said that the 22-year-old woman and her father died after falling from the 8th floor of a parking garage. Seminole Police determined that the car arrived at the complex minutes before the incident occurred.
Bitner concluded that collected evidence and toxicology test results indicated that Fogel killed his daughter before committing suicide.
