MGM Springfield is facing a lawsuit over blackjack odds as it has allegedly increased the house edge.
Last week, plaintiffs submitted a class-action lawsuit in Hampden Superior Court, claiming that the casino resort paid them with odds of 6 to 5 although the state law required 3 to 2 odds when dealt a blackjack hand.
However, MGM Springfield spokesman Saverio Mancini maintains that the company is “complying with all Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) regulations and feel confident that this lawsuit will be found to have no merit.”
The MGC spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said that the Commission was evaluating the lawsuit to determine which steps to undertake.
