Isaac Baron kicked off the 2019 Poker Masters with a victory in the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em event on Monday, taking home over $220,000.
The American began playing professional poker more than a decade ago, participating in both online and live tournaments. This year, he won his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet, which came with a $407,739 payout.
The 32-year-old triumphed in the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em on Monday — an event which attracted more than 90 participants. At the final table, he was competing for the first place with fellow American players, Ralph Wong and Chance Kornuth.
A king-nine offsuit wasn’t enough for Wong to beat Baron’s jack-six of diamonds, securing him the third place and $116,400. Kornuth finished second when his ace-nine offsuit couldn’t defeat the bracelet winner’s five-three of clubs when the board ran out three of diamonds. Kornuth received $164,900.
The inaugural Poker Masters was held in 2017 at Las Vegas’ Aria, with the highlight being the $50,000 buy-in tournament, which gathered 51 entries.
