Riverboat Casino Resort Horseshoe Southern Indiana is preparing to roll out a sportsbook in September.
In May, Governor Eric Holcomb passed House Bill 1015, paving the way for legal sports betting in Indiana. After the enactment, he said that “this legislation will spur positive economic growth.”
A spokesperson for the Caesars Entertainment-operated venue confirmed that they were developing a temporary sportsbook on the casino boat, while a permanent land-based facility is set to open in December.
The gambling venue also plans to introduce a sports wagering app. Although there is no official release date, Horseshoe Southern Indiana has confirmed that the app is in the works.
Louisville-based riverboat announced in May the $85 million project to build a casino resort rebranded as Caesars Southern Indiana. Construction work is expected to conclude by early 2020.
