Del Lago Resort & Casino and DraftKings are set to bring legal sports betting to Finger Lakes on Friday.
The Peninsula Pacific-operated venue got the green light to develop a sports betting facility from the New York State Gaming Commission on June 10.
“We are thrilled about this. This will be a great experience for our customers,” stated Peninsula chairman and managing partner M. Brent Stevens.
The Friday ribbon-cutting ceremony will include former Syracuse University and NFL football player Donovan McNabb who will be on hand to place the first bet with del Lago and DraftKings officials.
The sportsbook is a 6,000-square-foot facility, featuring 23 self-service wagering kiosks, scrolling ticker, and odds boards.
Del Lago is joining two other upstate New York casinos, Tioga Downs and Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady, in introducing sports betting.
