With less than two weeks until the World Series kick-off, another seven-figure bet was accepted Tuesday at a Mississippi casino.
A gambler placed a $1 million bet at Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort, choosing the American League (AL) over the National League to win the World Series. If the AL becomes the champion, the bettor will take home $1.7 million.
“Scarlet Pearl is the nation’s new home for the biggest bets,” said CEO LuAnn Pappas. “We’ll speak with any guest who wants to place a large bet, whether it’s in our sportsbook, on our tables, or at our slot machines. We don’t sweat the money.”
Just last week, businessman Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale placed a $3.5 million wager on the Houston Astros to emerge victorious in the World Series.
