We weren’t too impressed by BGaming’s Megaways debut release, Aztec Magic Megaways, to be honest, and it expectedly didn’t make much of a splash either. Fair enough, it was their first attempt with the licensed engine after all, but there is no excuse for simply making a reskin in their next attempt. Sweet Rush Megaways is the same game, albeit with a more original and cute sweets and aliens theme, and it’s simpler than most Megaways installments.
You don’t get Cascading Wins for one, and the only base game feature outside of the dynamic reels engine are the multiplier wilds. These come with values up to x3, and both regular wilds and multiplier wilds become sticky in the bonus round. There is nothing else going on in this game, like in the original, but you can double your bonus round chances via the Ante Bet feature. Non-UK players can also purchase the bonus round.
The premium symbols pay between 0.8 to 10 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and thecandy machine Wild symbolsteps in for pay symbols to help complete wins. It comes withrandom multipliers of x1, x2, or x3, and other than that it holds no pay value of its own. It can appear on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 only, and all wild multipliers that are part of the same win are applied to boost that win.
You need3, 4, 5, or 6 gift wrapped box scattersin view to trigger theBonus Round, and this gives you8, 10, 12, or 16 free spins, respectively. Wilds can land with multipliers attached in the bonus round as well, andall wilds become stickyfor the duration of the feature. You can pay50 % extra per spinto double your bonus round chances, and non-UK players, and anyone eligible, canpurchase the bonus roundfor100x the stake.
You get a brief and uneventful taste of the base game, before we trigger the bonus round with 4 scatters at 0:36 into the 1:57-minute highlights video. This gave us 10 free spins, and you can see for yourself how we fared by hitting the play button below.
BGaming likes to keep their Megaways releases simple it seems, and Sweet Rush Megaways is basically a reskin of their Mesoamerican themed Megaways debut; Aztec Magic Megaways. It comes with cute alien characters, and a blue-skinned chef is by your side at all times. Nothing much happens in the base game in terms of features though, but you get the dynamic grid experience with multiplier wilds sprinkled in for good measure.
Turning on the Chance x2 Feature might be a good idea since it doubles your bonus round chances, and paying 50 % extra isn’t too shabby for an ante bet feature like this. The multiplier wilds become sticky in the bonus round, which increases your likelihood of closing in on the12,960x potential. We are a bit disappointed that BGaming would simply release a reskin of their rather unmemorable Megaways debut though, instead of trying to improve things and make a better game this time.
