Revenue from gambling in Pennsylvania amounted to $3.3 billion over the 2018-2019 fiscal year, establishing a new record compared with the previous year.
Thursday figures from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) show that gross gaming revenue increased by 2% (almost $60 million) in contrast to the 2017-2018 fiscal year when gambling brought in $3.25 billion.
Slot machines accounted for the majority of earnings, with the games generating $2.37 billion for the state. The recently legalized sports betting produced $43 million, and table games experienced a $10 million decrease in revenue.
Pennsylvania has a high gaming tax; thus the state raked in $1.39 billion in tax revenue in 2018-2019.
