Ohio gamblers contributed to more than a $1.6 million increase in July gaming revenue, leading to year-over-year growth.
Wednesday report from the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) points out that casinos and racinos achieved a 2.3% growth in gross gaming revenue compared to the same month of last year.
North Randall-based Jack Thistledown Racino and Jack Cleveland Casino accomplished the biggest revenue increase among 11 Ohio gambling venues. Thistledown revenue soared by 15.3% ($12.3 million), whereas Jack Cleveland’s figures were up 7.3% ($17.1 million).
In contrast, MGM Northfield Park suffered a 5.8% drop, with the racino losing almost $21.2 million when compared to July 2018.
News about Northfield Park’s revenue decrease come just weeks after it was reported that MGM Springfield failed to meet its revenue targets.
