Penn National Gaming’s Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg is getting ready to offer sports betting on September 1, pending the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) approval.
The casino will develop a sportsbook following Governor Eric Holcomb’s enactment of bill H1015 on May 8 which permitted digital and in-person sports betting.
“Our customers can’t wait to begin wagering on sports,” stated the casino’s Assistant General Manager Ryan Coppola. “This region is a hotbed of both professional sports and college athletics, and we hope to become a destination for fans from Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky,” he added.
Although the gambling operator is awaiting the final approval from the IGC, it has already announced that the sportsbook will feature a wagering counter, with betting kiosks set to be available throughout the facility.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for September 7, with former NFL player Anthony Muñoz and baseball player Tony Perez set to participate.
Aside from Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg, Horseshoe Southern Indiana is another Indiana gambling property preparing to offer sports betting in time for the NFL season.
