Yary Hing Becomes Champion of Ante Up Poker Tour
Yary Hing emerged victorious in the Ante Up Poker Tour Jamul Casino $550 Main Event on Thursday, taking home $17,000.
The professional poker player began his career last year, earning more than $70,000 to date. Hing recorded his best result in the Ante Up Poker Tour where he became the champion.
Yary Hing told reporters after the win that he wanted to prove something to himself. “I’ve been playing a lot of tournaments, and I’ve been getting close. I’ve been somehow not making first place,” he added.
On Thursday, the American player beat a field of 171 participants to secure the top prize. He obtained $17,000 after reaching a four-way ICM chop deal with his countrymen Christopher Smith, Scott Lewis, and Young Hilliard.
Lewis and Hilliard assumed third and fourth place, respectively, which brought them a combined total of $27,000. Smith was the runner-up, receiving $15,560.
The Ante Up Poker Tour was the first poker tournament to be held at Jamul Casino.
