Northern New York is ready to allow legal sports betting as Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort (AMCR) partners up with the gaming company Stars Group.
The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe announced that it inked a deal with Canadian company The Stars Group to support the introduction of a sportsbook at its Hogansburg-based casino resort.
General Manager of AMCR Todd Papineau said that they were “thrilled” to announce the sports wagering experience together with The Stars Group, adding that they would connect sports enthusiasts with interactive gambling.
Under the terms of the agreement, The Stars Group, which formed a sports wagering arm FOX Bet in the US, will operate real-money a digital sportsbook, casinos, and poker in New York.
Robin Chhabra, CEO of FOX Bet, commented that the agreement would strengthen the company’s market access.
The upcoming Stick’s Sports Bar & Sports Book will stretch over 5,200 square feet, featuring 25 television screens and a video wall.
It is expected that the facility will be launched in the fall of 2019.
