NFL Takes Step Towards Sports Gambling
The NFL has expanded its partnership with Swiss-based sports data provider Sportradar to distribute information to bookmakers.
In 2015, the football league and Sportradar entered into an agreement, permitting the latter to deliver play-by-play information to the media.
“Sportradar has been an excellent partner the last four years and has provided the league, our teams, and media marketplace with innovative data products,” said Hans Schroeder, executive VP and chief operating officer for NFL Media.
The expanded partnership allows Sportradar to organize the distribution of the data to legal sportsbook operators in the United States and abroad.
In addition, the company will monitor wagering activity on NFL games and look for any signs of fraud.
