Cherokee Nation Concludes Deal with Legends
Oklahoma-based holding company Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB) has signed a deal with Legends, an Arkansas hospitality firm, to create an entertainment complex.
Previously, the CNB sent in an application to the Arkansas Racing Commission, aiming at opening a casino resort in Pope County.
On June 11, the CNB, whose mission is to boost the economy of the Cherokee Nation, announced its partnership with Legends in an effort to bring a “world-class” entertainment venue, entrusting the latter with the process of creating the culinary experience, building the complex, and earning revenue from non-gambling attractions.
Legends is a venue-management company, which has been run by the New York Yankees baseball team and the Dallas Cowboys football team since 2008.
In 2018 residents approved Issue 4 of the Arkansas Constitution, which allows the commission to provide four licenses that will bring casino gaming to Jefferson and Pope counties, Southland, and Oaklawn.
