This venue used to operate as VIP Lounge Casino whose owners decided to undergo a rebranding process in 2012 and changed its name and theme. Now, Ruby Slots hits you with red, the color of passion, as soon as you arrive. Let’s get to the review of this casino and see whether it is worth your visit.

Ruby Slots Casino Review

Before we get to the internal casino operations, we have to compliment what we see on the homepage. As soon as you access the site, you are greeted with a slot reel on the main screen informing you about the current promotional offers. The background behind the reels is vibrant red with powerful contrasts that are well-incorporated in the casino’s theme. The page is not cluttered, and tabs are brightly colored, so you will be able to find the games, the tournament section, and even gambling tips very easily. So far, we are pleased with the casino’s interface. Let’s move on.

Running on the RealTime Gaming software, it’s no surprise that everything functions flawlessly. When it comes to their license, we stumbled on a couple of contradictory pieces of information. According to many portals, this casino is licensed by the government of Costa Rica, but unfortunately, we couldn’t confirm this information on their Terms and Conditions page.

Another problematic thing is the fact they are owned by the Virtual Group. This group has a long history of unresolved customer disputes and the reputation of slow payments. The latter of these issues continued to this day, and the problem evolved so that now payouts don’t happen at all. This is really concerning, but we will need to dig further before deciding on the trustworthiness of Ruby Slots Casino.

No License at All?

We had real trouble finding out this piece of information. Some portals claim that this venue operates under the Curaçao license, while others state that the site is licensed by the Costa Rican government. We rushed to their Terms and Conditions page, and we couldn’t find any mention of the license. On their FAQ page, they claim that the casino is fully licensed and that it operates in compliance with the laws of online gambling. The answer couldn’t be vaguer than this. Furthermore, we tried to reach their customer support on live chat to get the final answer, and we were greeted by an automatic message after which the chat closed.

One of the most reputable watchdog portals stated that they managed to get in touch with the casino’s representatives, and the reps refused to share this piece of information.

Decent Game Selection

It’s needless to say that RealTime Gaming is one of the most reputable providers out there, so you can surely expect the best gaming experience. This is precisely why there is a vast selection of games available, and that selection contains more than just slot games. The table games library is rather short, featuring 20 choices that include all-time classics: Blackjack, Super 21, and Pontoon.

Game Ruby Slots

You can find both versions of Roulette or enjoy Rummy, Craps, or Keno. Video poker enthusiasts are greeted with a decent offer of 20 choices, including both single-hand and multi-hand casino games.

If you are a reels fan, we completely understand why you decided to check out this venue. The rich slot offer has over 150 different titles including the most recent releases. If you are a fan of fairytale-themed slots, you will be pleased with Hairway to Heaven. However, if you prefer water games, you will be surprised by their water-themed offer, where there are a couple of progressives too. Enjoy in the RTG all-time favorite — The Elf Wars, a Christmas themed slot, and follow the adventure of Rudolph the Reindeer.

Also, RTG made sure to include their latest releases and featured the Bubble Bubble 2, Gemtopia, and Dragon Orb in their offer too.

Ruby Slots Casino delivers all of these titles through a downloadable version or a web-based platform where you don’t need any extension, and you can play directly in your web browser. The mobile version of the platform is not available if you don’t have an account, but if you are a regular player, you shouldn’t have any troubles enjoying their games on your mobile device. However, it is important to point out that the mobile interface is different from the website one. Unfortunately, the games look more outdated in the mobile version, and the casino doesn’t work flawlessly.

Ruby Slots Casino doesn’t provide any Live Dealer games at the moment.

Bonuses Galore

Signing up for Ruby Slots is an easy process, especially if you decide to go down the instant play route. The promotional scheme includes both no deposit and match deposit codes, and we applaud this.

Firstly, players are greeted with the no deposit bonus code that entitles them to $140 no deposit bonus. Players are greeted with this offer the moment they register. You can use this offer in all games except for roulette, craps, baccarat, sic bo, pai gow, and war. This bonus comes with the 30x wagering requirements.

The second promotional bonus is the first deposit bonus that gives players a 250% match bonus that is triggered with the minimum deposit of $30. This offer comes with the 30x wagering requirements, and it can be used in all games except for slot machines and keno.

Lastly, players can look forward to another bonus offer — a 100% matching bonus that’s valid for all games and comes with a 30x playthrough.

Ruby Slots Casino offers a VIP player service separated into five different levels, each bringing a different set of rewards. The first level, called Opal, starts with a 100% match bonus and the opportunity to climb the ladder higher by accumulating comp points. The higher you go, the more appealing the benefits become. The last level — Ruby — brings its own tailored VIP benefits and an astonishing $1,000 welcome bonus.

You have to agree it is amazing to be part of the VIP clientele at Ruby Slots Casino.

Terms and Conditions Crosscheck

Players should be informed about the minutest workings of the casino they are playing at. This is precisely why we needed to dig deeper into Ruby Slots’ Terms and Conditions page. The first thing we found suspicious was the following clause:

This term is not too concerning, but there is no further explanation on how they determine the difference between the professional and non-professional use of the website. This clause can easily mean that they have the liberty to delete the player’s account if they consider their actions to be suspicious. That can include well-performing players who may be banned for playing better than the casino wants them to.

This clause is a bit worrying:

Not only are they potentially excluding players who are doing well, they decided that playing it safe is a problem too. Every player has a right to play however he likes; the choice of low-risk or high-risk strategies is solely up to him.

The next one affects more than the player’s performance; it completely jeopardizes the player’s privacy. See the following:

If you are worried by the previous clause, the next one will not help you:

The attempt to defraud the casino is a serious issue, and obviously, it has to have some consequences. However, according to the previous clause, if you, by any chance, decide to share any sort of ‘malicious’ comment regarding the casino’s way of operating, they reserve the right to publicize those comments along with your personal details. Like that’s not bad enough, they threaten to share those details with other casinos, credit card companies, and banks affecting the player’s privacy. We have never encountered such an open threat made by an online casino, especially when it comes to the privacy of players. This kind of vengeful behavior can seriously affect the player’s personal life.

Banking — the Gray Area

So this is when the things start to get shady.

We have familiarized ourselves with the whole process, and we will gladly share what we have learned with you. When you decide to make a deposit, you will need to find the cashier button, and you will be given a few options: credit/debit card, e-wallet, and Bitcoin. They accept only US dollars as their currency, so their range of options is relatively limited. According to their site, if you decide to use any other currency, it will be converted to dollars following the current exchange rates which the casino is not responsible for.

When you decide to withdraw your winnings, you will be presented with the following choices: Bitcoin, e-wallet, wire transfer, or bank check. However, there is no mention of transaction fees for these methods.

According to their Terms and Conditions, all requests for withdrawal need to be carefully reviewed and approved. Supposedly, your withdrawal should be processed within 3 business days. However, they have an ‘Express Approval’ and ‘Standard Approval’ options depending on the amount of money. If you need to withdraw less than $200, and you haven’t used any of the match bonuses to earn that — you can withdraw using ‘Express Approval.’

Otherwise, you qualify for ‘Standard Approval’ which means that you will be waiting for your funds at least 7 business days. But in reality, it takes 21–25 days assuming that your documents are in order. According to many players, they used that as a common stalling strategy and failed to pay out their players for a month or two.

As for the rest of the important info, we found out that the maximum payout per week is set to $2,000, but if you are one of the VIP players, this amount can be higher. There’s nothing about the minimum withdrawal on the website.

Non-Responsive Support

According to their website, they provide 24/7 customer service via phone (toll-free for US players), email address, and live chat. The live chat support option is available to registered players only, and it is clearly visible on the homepage. No problem; we registered and tried to get in touch with the representatives to verify some details. We assumed that there must have been some technical difficulties, so we tried a few more times in the course of the next couple of days.

As we have mentioned before, we received an auto message, and after a minute or two, the chat cloud was automatically closed. After we looked into the player’s comments and their experiences on the most reputable watchdog portals, we were able to see that the casino’s support representatives tend to appear sporadically. They are available for one month, then not available for the next two months. Needless to say that we are disappointed, but not surprised.

This Ruby Needs More Polishing!

In this industry, it is tough to run a respectable business without making mistakes along the way. Some errors can be overseen, but Ruby Slots has a lot to work on for sure.

Taking into account all the factors, it is really hard to recommend this venue. Their promotional scheme is well thought out, and the game selection is solid, but their association with the notorious Virtual Group has affected their way of conducting business.

Slow or non-existent payouts, shady clauses, and no license at all means that joining this venue has to be done with extreme caution. If you are not a risk-taker, we kindly suggest avoiding this venue.
