Gambling operator Spectacle Entertainment got the green light Wednesday from the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) to relocate two riverboat casinos in Gary.
Spectacle Entertainment revealed a partnership with Hard Rock International on July 14, announcing they would seek to develop Hard Rock Casino Gary in Indiana.
The companies are yet to complete the agreement; however, Keeler has informed the IGC that they expect to finalize it by mid-September.
“We thought we had to partner with somebody that was the gold standard of the casino business,” added Spectacle’s Vice President and General Counsel John Keeler.
After receiving unanimous approval from the Commission, the two Majestic Star riverboat casinos will relocate from Lake Michigan and merge into a $300 million worth land-based gambling facility close to the interstate Borman Expressway.
The news about the IGC’s approval came just a day after the City Council gave Spectacle Entertainment the go-ahead for relocation.
